Indicators:
An indicator is a dye that is used to detect acid and base by changing it’s colour and odor(smell).
Acid:
The chemical which have sour taste are called acids. There are two types of acid’s:
1.Strong acids : These are mineral acids . Such as: Hydrochloric acid, Sulphuric acid and Nitric acid.
2 .Weak acids :These are carbonic acids. Such as:Citric acid,Tartaric acid and Carbonic acid.
Properties of acids
1. Taste: It is sour in taste. 2. Effect on litmus paper: It turns litmus red. 3. Conductor for electricity:It conduct electricity with water.
